Bont Skates was founded in Sydney in 1975, when Inze Bont reinforced the back of his leather short track boots with fibreglass. The family business makes short track and long track boots, blades, inline speed skates and roller skates, including custom boots made from a foot mould. Bont calls itself the world's largest speed skate manufacturer and says it was the first boot maker to use fibreglass, Kevlar and carbon. The shop at bont.com is also available in German.
